New Leadership at FDDC – Hulscher Resigns

From the Board of Directors –
Paula Hulscher has spent 27 years at First District Development Company (FDDC ), and she will be greatly missed by everyone from staff to board members and all of the many businesses she has served and supported over these last many years.

Over the course of the last 10 years Paula has assisted an estimated 115 businesses with SBA 504 financing, totaling loans over $63,721,000 and had oversight on 38 First District revolving loans totaling $6,354,036. It is nearly impossible to calculate the impact in the communities of businesses she has served.

Ms. Hulscher had been an efficient, effective Executive Vice President, as well as a compassionate leader to the employees who have worked with her.

Loan Officer Amy Waite commented: Paula has shown me the work ethic and dedication required to be a true partner to South Dakota’s lenders and small businesses driving South Dakota’s economic growth. Paula, hands down, has been the most impactful person on my professional career. Paula has been at the helm of establishing FDDC’s strong foundation – one which the remaining FDDC team will continue to work hard to successfully build upon. I sincerely thank Paula for being my mentor and coach for the past 17 years I’ve been with FDDC. I have the utmost respect for Paula both professionally and personally.

It is our sincere desire to commend Ms. Hulscher on a job well done above all expectations.

Moving forward, Amy Waite has been named interim Executive Vice President. Amy and Shelby Kraemer, together, will take on the management duties of FDDC. The entire FDDC team is excited at the opportunity to build upon First District’s longstanding tradition of excellent customer service, as well as being a dependable and trustworthy partner for lenders and business owners throughout the state of South Dakota!
