Totally Tubular Mfg., Inc., located in Aberdeen, SD, started out as a partnership in 2001. The business manufactured and sold starter fertilizer placement tubes for corn planters to local farmers. Fortunately, the popularity of the tubes quickly grew. Brent Wiesenburger, one of the original partners, became the sole owner of the business in 2017. Brent engineers new product designs. Angie Wiesenburger, Brent’s wife, manages the day-to-day operations of the business as the Office Manager.
Totally Tubular Mfg., Inc. is a two-time borrower of the SBA 504 loan program. Both projects included a combined financing package with Dacotah Bank in Aberdeen, SD, and an SBA 504 loan through First District Development Company. Their latest expansion will allow Totally Tubular to hire two additional employees.
Totally Tubular Mfg., first utilized SBA 504 financing in 2012 when they purchased their existing location. At the time, the fertilizer tubes were available from a network of 84 dealers. Totally Tubular has grown vastly over the last nineteen years, becoming a well-known brand in the liquid fertilizer market. They now manufacture fertilizer tubes for almost every type of planter. The dealer network has grown to nearly 1,000 dealers located across the United States and Canada.
In addition to manufacturing fertilizer tubes, Totally Tubular also has a local steel and aluminum manufacturing shop. Totally Tubular Mfg. employs metal fabrication specialists who can custom make any part and a full-time fabricator who draws customers’ requests. Brent and Angie Wiesenburger recently jumped on the opportunity to purchase an adjacent property, again utilizing SBA 504 financing. The additional space has created more efficient spaces for production, welding, and inventory storage in their existing building, as well as, additional office space, dedicated shipping, and receiving in the new building.
