After many years of running a hardware store and gas station on Main Street of Waubay, South Dakota, owners Tom and Leanne Harrington and Sonny and Deb Rumpza decided to construct a new building to house both businesses, as well as a convenience store. The new location would be much more visible for the business on SD Highway 12 and allow the owners to offer tools, convenience items, fuel, and fishing supplies all under one roof. Besides local residents, HR One Stop provides their services to area farmers, travelers, and fishermen coming through the Waubay area. Moving from Main Street to the busy South Dakota Highway has increased the traffic through their business enormously.

First District Development Company and Dacotah Bank of Webster, South Dakota, partnered to provide an attractive financing package for HR One Stop. The business was able to secure a long term fixed rate through the SBA 504 program. The couples work many long hours at this diverse business, but it has proven to be worth the effort for the success they have achieved.
